Taiyo Sunflower Seeds Heirloom Sunflowers Great for Pollinator Gardens

Taiyo sunflowers are must for any gardener who loves sunflowers. This is a Japanese heirloom sunflower grown for the very large heads. Huge velvet brown center is surrounded by smaller golden petals. This sunflower variety is great for cut flowers. Taiyo sunflowers work well in informal, cottage style bouquets.

Taiyo sunflowers grow 5-6 feet tall. Sunflowers grow best in full sun in average garden soil. Grow a row in your vegetable garden to attract beneficial pollinators. You can see in the photos the bees love this plant. You can leave the plants standing to dry in the garden. Golden finches will flock to the large dried heads to devour the nutritious seeds. If I'm tired of looking at the dried plants I cut the large heads off and hang them off the fence line with raffia. The birds will still find them.

This listing is for 25 seeds fresh from last fall's harvest. All seeds come packed in a kraft paper envelope. All orders come with complete, detailed growing instructions. Seeds are cleaned by hand and small natural bits of chaff may be present.
