Eryngium yuccafolium or Rattlesnake Master is a wonderful native prairie plant. Eryngium is a wonderful plant for dry garden areas. This listing is for 45 seeds from this year's crop. Eryngium or Sea Holly is a great addition to any native garden or prairie planting. I began growing Rattlesnake Master while I was developing the Ozark Native Garden at our local botanical gardens.

The waxy green foliage is spiny and resembles a yucca plant. The plant is topped by 3-4 foot spikes of white bristly flowers. The 1 inch white spiky flowers will begin appearing in July and bloom through August. Allow the spikes to dry in place for winter interest and your own crop of seeds. Like many perennials Eryngium yuccafolium does need a cold stratification period for germination. Each order comes with complete growing instructions.

Rattlesnake Master grows best in full sun. It can take dry conditions once established. Grow in light well drained soil. Hardy in zones 4-9.

Muontainlily Farm is a licensed plant nursery in the Ozark Mountains. I garden without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers. All seeds are harvested and cleaned by hand. Small natural bits of chaff may be present.
