Nutmeg Scented Geranium Fragrant Pelargonium Plant Great for Container Gardening
Nutmeg Scented Geranium has soft gray foliage that releases a spicy sweet fragrance when crushed. Nutmeg scented geranium does bloom a little more than some of the other varieties. This variety has a trailing habit and is a great choice for containers or hanging baskets. The plant will send up delicate sprays of tiny white flowers throughout the summer. Use scented geraniums in patio pots or along garden paths where the fragrance can be enjoyed up close. The photographs are of a one year old stock plant. You will receive a fully rooted plant in a four inch nursery pot.
The fragrance is strongest by crushing the leaves between your fingers. Keep in mind that the scented geraniums like many herbs prefer to grow on the dry side. This variety can grow up 9-10 inches tall with a somewhat sprawling habit. I treat scented pelargoniums as annuals here in my zone 6 garden. They are easy to pot up and bring indoors for the winter at the end of the growing season. Pelargoniums are hardy in zone 10 and above.
Mountainlilyfarm is a licensed plant nursery in the Ozark Mountains.I garden without the use of pesticides or synthetic fertilizers.
