Cherokee Purple is a wonderful heirloom tomato variety. The fruit of Cherokee Purple tomato is a rich dark shade of deep red/ purple. The inside of the fruits are wonderfully marbled. This is a very meaty tomato with a rich full flavor. Healthy, indeterminate plants produce a prolific amount of large tomatoes. Cherokee Purple is great used fresh or added to homemade salsa.
Grow tomatoes in full sun and well drained soil. I side dress with an organic fertilizer and try to provide an inch of water a week. This is something of a challenge during our dry summers but this heirloom tomato performed wonderfully.
Each seed packet contains a minimum of 20 seeds. All seeds come packaged in a kraft paper envelope with complete growing instructions. Seeds are cleaned by hand and small natural bits of chaff may be present.
