Nicotiana sylvestris is a tall, fragrant summer annual that is easy to grow from seeds This tall Flowering Tobacco will add a dramatic statement to flower beds and borders. Nicotiana plants can grow 4- 5 feet tall once they begin setting flowers. Also known as Indian Peace Pipes in reference to the 3 inch tubular flowers. Nicotiana flowers open in the evening and emit a sweet, jasmine like fragrance. Grow this plant near a patio where the fragrance can be enjoyed in the evenings. The white flowers glow in the moonlight too! Evening moths and pollinators will flock to the blooms.
Heirloom Nicotiana will grow and flower best in at least 6 hours of full sun. The tall erect plants rarely need staking. Each packet will contain a minimum of 300 seeds. The seeds are very tiny and difficult to count so I always include extras. Each order comes with complete growing instructions.
