The long rope like flowers of Emerald Tassels Amaranth will add drama to flower beds and cut flower arrangements. This Amaranth is also known as Love Lies Bleeding in reference to the long rope like flowers that almost reach the ground. The unusual green flowers begin blooming in early summer and continue until frost. Emerald Tassels Amaranth can grow up to 6 feet tall and produces loads of long tassel like flowers. Amaranth is easy to grow from seeds in the summer garden. This will grow and flower best with at least 6-8 fours of full sun. The plants will get top heavy and a sturdy stake helps keep the plants standing upright. Flowers can be dried but the color will fade to tan. Amaranth adds a nice textured to dried floral crafts such as wreathes.
