Rudbeckia hirta, 'Indian Summer' is an easy care drought tolerant garden plant. This Rudbeckia is also known as Gloriosa Daisy. Cheerful yellow daisy type flowers will add color to informal borders and containers.Black Eye Susan flowers bloom on sturdy stems which make them ideal for cut flowers. Plants begin blooming in mid summer and continue until frost. Indian Summer Rudbeckia works great in mixed plantings with small ornamental grasses and other perennials.
Rudbeckia is easy to grow in full sun and well drained soil. This is a perennial plant in zones 5-9. However, cold and wet winters may cause it to be a fairly short lived perennial. The plant will often reseed since I leave my seed heads standing for the goldfinches.Grows up to 2 feet when in bloom.
